
Expanding your workplace giving program is easy and it gives your employees so much more choice in making painless donations to charitable organizations addressing their concerns. And it gives your company the opportunity to further emphasize its aim of “giving back” to the community.
Distribute an Alaska Community Share pledge form and brochure (available from our office) to each employee. If your workplace currently runs another campaign, distribute Alaska Community Share materials simultaneously with other appeals. Most employers run their campaign between Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
An option to Increase awareness of your employee giving campaign and promote informed giving. Gather interested employees for a 5-minute presentation from Alaska Community Share. Community Shares’ staff. Member Agencies and volunteers are available at any time. Though a presentation is not required, a personal appeal gives employees a better understanding of their giving options and a chance to ask questions. This may be done jointly with other workplace charities.
Upon the close of your campaign period, collect all employee pledge forms and return the Alaska Community Share copies and any cash donations. Alaska Community Share can return a summary of donors and their per-payroll contributions. We work hard to provide all support necessary to make your campaign run easily and effectively.
Transmit payroll deduction contributions to Alaska Community Share on a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly basis. We track all agency designations and distribute funds to our member agencies accordingly. In addition to a check or EFT, we ask that your payroll office also provide us with a summary of contributions made that payroll cycle, in order to ensure our accuracy when we distribute funds.
