Advocate for Social Change.  Alaska Community Share member agencies fight to change the underlying conditions that cause social inequities.  Alaska Community Share's agencies address the root causes of problems facing our communities.

Empower your Community.  Alaska Community Share believes that the people closest to a problem often have the best ideas about how to fix it.  Member agencies provide people with the tools and information they need to take control of their lives.

Support the efforts of those who have the least access to resources by promoting strategies for change developed through community involvement.  Donors empower those striving to conserve the environment, promote education, affordable healthcare, home ownership, safe neighborhoods, and better employment opportunities.  Donors also empower those advocating to end discrimination based on race, gender, class, age, sexual orientation and disability.

You strengthen not just one organization, but an entire community working for social change and economic justice.

You maximize the impact of your donation.  Many Alaska Community Share members are small, grassroots groups that have many volunteers and limited financial resources. They are skilled at making every dollar count.

Your donation helps to sustain and grow critical grass-roots groups.  Since Alaska Community Share gives member groups discretion in how best to spend funds raised through Community Share, your gift could be essential in keeping members’ doors open or enabling them to add new programs.

You give to an efficient and transparent organization.  Alaska Community Share honors all donor designations to specific Alaska Community Share agencies. Donors are encouraged to designate their contributions to member agencies that they specifically wish to support. General donations are distributed amongst all members.

Alaska Community Share member groups are screened carefully every year and are held to strict financial accountability standards. This provides donors peace of mind, knowing that their contributions are well managed.

Alaska Community Share is governed by a representative Board of Directors consisting of member agency representatives.  Board members are elected for a three-year term and are responsible for all decisions concerning the operations of Alaska Community Share.
